【摘要】:Determinationofthehydro-thermalareastabilityofwetblueprovidesinformationconcerningtheefficacyofthetanningprocessaswellastheadequacyofthewetblueforintendedenduseapplicationswhereareastabilityisaparticularrequirement.Relativeareastabilityofchrome-tannedleatherisarequirementformanyapplicationssuchasbookbinding,shoeandbootcomponents,upholstery,sealsandgaskets,etc.Thistestmethodissuitableforuseindevelopmentworkandprocesscontrolinthetanneryandforspecificationtestingofwetbluefordomesticandinternationalcommercialpurposes.1.1Thistestmethodprovidesastandardprocedurefordeterminationofthedimensionalstabilityorareashrinkageofaspecimenofwetbluethatissubmersedinboilingwaterforaspecifiedtimeperiod.Thistestmethodisapplicabletoalltypesofwetblue.1.2ThevaluesgiveninSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Theinch-poundunitsgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
