【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationdefinescriteriaforboron-basedneutronabsorbingmaterialsystemsusedinracksinapoolenvironmentforstorageofnuclearlightwaterreactor(LWR)spent-fuelassembliesordisassembledcomponentstomaintainsub-criticalityinthestorageracksystem.1.2Boron-basedneutronabsorbingmaterialsystemsnormallyconsistofmetallicboronorachemicalcompoundcontainingboron(forexample,boroncarbide,B4C)supportedbyamatrixofaluminum,steel,orothermaterials.1.3Inaboron-basedabsorber,neutronabsorptionoccursprimarilybytheboron-10isotopethatispresentinnaturalborontotheextentof18.3x00B1;0.2%byweight(dependinguponthegeologicaloriginoftheboron).Boron,enrichedinboron-10couldalsobeused.1.4Thematerialssystemsdescribedhereinshallbefunctionalx2013;thatisalwaysbecapabletomaintainaB10arealdensitysuchthatsubcriticalityKeffx003C;0.95orKeffx003C;0.98orKeffx003C;1.0dependingonthedesignspecificationfortheservicelifeintheoperatingenvironmentofanuclearspentfuelpool.1.5Anumberofacceptableboron-basedabsorbingmaterialscombinationsarecurrentlyavailablewhileothersarebeingdevelopedforuseinthefuture.Thisspecificationdefinescriteriaessentialandapplicabletoallmaterialscombinationsandidentifiesparametersabuyershouldspecifytosatisfyauniqueorparticularrequirement.1.6Thescopeofthisspecificationdoesnotcomprehensivelycoverallprovisionsforpreventingcriticalityaccidentsorrequirementsforhealthandsafety.Observanceofthisspecificationdoesnotrelievetheuseroftheobligationtoconformtoallapplicableinternational,national,andlocalregulations.
